CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - A man has been charged in a west Charlotte murder from last month, Charlotte Mecklenburg police say.
Around 1:47 p.m. on March 23 police were called to the 600 block of Parkaire Lane for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.
Once there, they found the victim, Leonard Bowie Jr., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Atrium Health where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Tavavares Lee Greer, 40, was developed as a suspect in the shooting and warrants were issued for his arrest.
On Friday, he was found in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Police him as a suspect in the murder of Warrants were put out for his arrest, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Greer will be extradited to Mecklenburg County at a later date to face charges of murder, firearm by felon and discharging a firearm within an enclosure to incite fear.
