Man charged in deadly west Charlotte apartment shooting

A man has been charged in a deadly shooting Sunday night in west Charlotte.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they arrested Davenon Alexander Farmer Monday afternoon and charged him with the murder of William Jacobs. Jacobs was shot and killed Sunday night inside an apartment building, located in the 3000 block of Timberbrook Drive. 

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, Jacobs was inside of an apartment along with several other people when the suspect shot him. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. The victim and suspect knew each other, police said. 

Famrer was arrested Monday near the 2600 block of Columbus Circle. He was charged with murder and taken to the Mecklenburg County Jail.
