Man charged with indecent liberties with minor in Shelby

Last Friday the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office arrested a man involved in indecent liberties with a child and multiple other charges.

An individual reported Joshua Jai Sellers after finding sexually explicit conversation from Facebook on their tablet between Sellers and a juvenile.

Pornographic images had been shared between the juvenile and Sellers as well, according to the reporting person.

After investigating officers found out Sellers had picked up the juvenile before and took them to a store and had inappropriate contact with the juvenile.

Sellers has been charged with attempted statutory sexual offense with a minor, indecent liberties with a minor, 1st degree sexual exploitation of a minor, 1st degree kidnapping, contributing to delinquency of a minor and possession of meth.

Sellers' bond was set at $502,000.

The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office states” it is important for parents to strictly monitor their children’s social media accounts and who they are talking to. Social Media is the number one tool used now by sexual predators.”
