Man charged with sexual assault against family member

The Iredell County Sheriff's Office has charged a man with sexual assault against a juvenile.

The juvenile told authorities that Richard Todd Floyd, a family member, had sexually assaulted her when she was 10 and continued until she was 13-years-old.

Richard was served with one count of first degree sex offense, five counts of rape of a child and two counts of indecent liberties with a child.

He was served with the warrants on Wednesday, November 2, after being writ in from prison.

He was given a $850,000 secure bond with a first court date of November 3. He is currently serving 16 years in North Carolina Dept. of Corrections for statutory rape/sex offense on an unrelated offense, where he was charged in March 2013 in Iredell County.
