CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) - One person is dead following a shooting incident Friday in northwest Charlotte, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
The shooting happened at 4:32 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13 in the 5400 block of Morning Breeze Lane.
Upon arrival, officers said they located 52-year-old Thomas Louis Beatty Jr. laying in the yard with an apparent gunshot wound.
Officers said Beatty Jr. was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Shortly after, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
One neighbor that spoke with FOX 46 Charlotte said multiple bullet holes were found in his home.
"Two in the living room, three in my daughter's bedroom, two in her play room and one in the window," said Patricio Ponce.
Early information gathered on scene by detectives indicate that Beatty Jr. and suspect knew one another, and this shooting was drug related.
This deadly shooting marks the seventh homicide in the City in just 13 days.
