CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - A young man was killed and another injured following a double shooting overnight in north Charlotte, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Jamil Davis. His family has been notified of his death. The young man was shot and killed just days before his 21st birthday on April 21.
The deadly shooting occurred around 1 a.m. Monday, April 15 at the intersection of Hidden Valley Road at Sugar Creek Road.
As officers arrived to the scene, they found two men with apparent gunshot wounds. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene. The second man was transported to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center with a minor gunshot wound to his wrist.
A CMPD K9 Team attempted to track the suspects but they were not located. A short time later officers were able to locate a vehicle parked a short distance away on Hidden Valley Road at Yuma Street, which possibly appears to be connected to this homicide, they said.
