Man shot to death in parking lot of NW Charlotte apartment complex

A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found shot to death in the parking lot of a northwest Charlotte apartment complex late Wednesday night, police said. 

The victim has been identified as Stephen Giles, 30. His family has been notified of his death. 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were called to the 300 block of Jones Street at 11:52 p.m. Wednesday, March 21 for an assault with a deadly weapon. 

Upon arrival, officers found Giles with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on scene by Medic.

Detectives were canvassing the area overnight to determine whether where were any witnesses to the deadly incident.
