Man wanted for 2 sexual battery incidents arrested

A man wanted for sexual battery incidents that occurred on the CPCC campus was arrested by CMPD on Friday after residents in the University area called 911 reporting a suspicious person. 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police arrested David Keith Kenney, 29, for 2 outstanding sexual battery warrants. Officers located Kenney on Friday after he ran from officers but was quickly apprehended.

Investigators say Kenney is being investigated for several other sexual battery incidents but has not been charged yet. At least 3 of the incidents occurred Friday on University City Blvd. between 7 & 11 pm. A woman at Rite Aid on University City Blvd. told officers she was groped by a man fitting the description of Kenney. He fled on foot after the assault. Two other women reported being groped on University City Blvd. as well.

The last incident was reported around 11 pm when a woman on Campus Walk Ln. told officers she was sexually assaulted by a man fitting the description of Kenney. He also fled on foot after the assault.
