Man, woman arrested in uptown Charlotte after crashing stolen truck

A man and woman were taken into custody Sunday night after crashing a stolen pick-up truck into a pole in uptown Charlotte, police said. 

Police said around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, November 5 they located a black Dodge Ram pikcup which had been reported stolen out of Hoke County. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on 4th Street but the suspects fled in the stolen vehicle. The officers did not pursue. 

A short time later, the suspect wrecked the truck into a pole on Victoria Avenue. 

CMPD said a man and woman ran from the scene, but both were apprehended quickly. Police said while the man was running from the scene he did enter a home on Victoria Ave., but immidately ran back out. 

Police said he will be charged with breaking and entering, among other charges.
