Police have arrested a man and a woman connected to a murder that occurred Sunday morning in Rowan County, authorities said.

Early Monday officers in Roberson County responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle, which appeared to be stuck in the mud. Hayden Godair was in the vehicle and gave the officers a false name at first, but the officers, after checking the vehicle's plates, found that the vehicle was stolen.

The vehicle was reported stolen at about 7 p.m. last night from a home on Parks Road, about a mile away from where the murder occurred. Deputies say Godair was traveling with Savannah Dial, 21, when they were found in Robeson County near Lumberton.

Officers also found a gun in the vehicle, a 1998 white GMC Sonoma.

Jabari Rogers, 17, was shot and killed at about 1 a.m. on Sunday and police believe Hayden Godair, 25, is responsible.

Rogers was found in the driveway of a home near Cone Drive in Woodleaf Sunday, and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Godair is currently in custody of the Rowan County Sheriff's Office under no bond for murder. He has a lengthy criminal record.

Dial has been charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, and possession of a stolen firearm. She is being held at the Rowan County Detention Center under a $300,000 secured bond.
