Medical Examiner: Remains of Erica Parsons to not be released for at least 2 months

The investigation into the death of Erica Lynn Parsons continues, according to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office. 

The remains of Erica are still with the NC Medical Examiner, and will not be released for at least two months, or possibly three months, as this portion of the investigation continues.

Once a complete picture of all the evidence is obtained, investigators said they will review the findings with the Rowan County District Attorney’s Office.

According to the sheriff's office, all of the funeral service expenses for Erica have been paid for. Donations are still being collected in honor of Erica, and are being collected by the Prevent Child Abuse Rowan Organization.

Information about Erica’s funeral service will be released once Erica’s remains have been released, and a date for her funeral service has been determined.
