A Mint Hill gun shop removed a Halloween display that some found offensive.

The manager of Heritage Gun Shop, Brandon Godwin first told Fox 46 Monday their display of a shooting victim outlined in chalk was all in good fun.

Fox 46 spoke with William Adams of Charlotte who lost his son to gun violence and now works with families of gun violence victims. He was shocked by the decorations.

After our story aired and Godwin spoke with Adams he decided to take down the display. He apologized to Adams and said it was in their best interest to take down the display to make everyone happy.

Godwin told Fox 46 he never meant to offend anyone and didn't know how serious it could be taken.
