Missing 81-year-old Burke County woman found safe

UPDATE 8 a.m. Hazel Cook Hull, 81, has been found and is safe, police said. They want to thank everyone for helping spread the word. 


The North Carolina Center for Missing persons has issued a Silver Alert for a missing endangered woman.

Hazel Cook Hull, 81, is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Hull is described as a white woman, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 180 pounds, with grey hair and green eyes. She was last seen at 4500 Doublehead Drive in Connelly Springs, heading towards the Dollar General Store on NC-18 south in a 2010 blue Toyota Corolla with North Carolina plate number XPX-6332. 

Anyone with information on Hull's whereabouts is asked to call the Burke County Sheriff's Office at 828-438-5500.
