Missing 85-year-old NC man found safe, authorities say

UPDATE 1:56 P.M.: At the request of the Wilmington Police Department, the N.C. Center for Missing Persons has cancelled the Silver Alert for Donald Walter Calder.

"He has been located and is safe!" Wilmington Police wrote on Facebook Monday. 


The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons is asking for the public's help in locating a missing 85-year-old Wilmington man.

Donald Walter Calder left his family’s home in the 300 block of Pinecliff Dr. sometime Sunday evening. He is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Calder is 5 foot 4 inches tall, and weighs approximately 200 pounds with grey hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing dark grey dress pants, a red button dress shirt, and a black winter coat. Calder may also be carrying a small suitcase.
