Missing man found dead in east Charlotte

The body of a missing Charlotte man was found in a wooded area in east Charlotte Friday, according to Charlotte Mecklenburg Police. 

Peter Cody Vongsaly, 24, had been reported missing and was last seen alive on March 28 in the 6100 block of Balsam Fir Drive. 

Detectives were there searching for Vongsaly as it was the last place he had been seen. Homicide Unit Detectives were notified and responded to the scene.

Vongsaly's family has been notified of his death. The cause of death is still under investigation.

This is an ongoing, active investigation.
