Mooresville police chief placed on administrative leave

The town manager says Chief Damon Williams was placed on leave with pay.

Both the police chief and a police captain with the Mooresville Police Department have been placed on administrative leave, according to the Town of Mooresville. 

The town manager says Police Chief Damon Williams was placed on leave with pay, and is being investigated for creating a "hostile work environment."

Police Captain David Call, supervisor of the Criminal Investigations Division, has also been placed on administrative leave with pay. 

These investigations are being done by an outside agency, and investigators said this is not based on criminal activity.
