CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - A motorcyclist was killed on Friday in what police are describing as a possible hit and and run.
At around 11 p.m. officers responded to an accident on West Boulevard nearby the Carolina Golf Club. A motorcyclist was found lying in the road and medics pronounced them dead on arrival.
The motorcycle operator has been identified as Daryl Miller.
The other vehicle involved in the accident, a Ford Fusion, fled the scene, according to reports.
Detectives determined that the motrcycle was traveling above the speed limit and collided with the Ford Fusion, which was attempting to make a left turn at an intersection. Witnesses said a black female fled the scene on foot. A search attempt shortly after produced no results.
This is an ongoing investigation.
