Multiple overnight homicide investigations underway in east Charlotte

Two separate overnight homicides have resulted in the death of a pair of men, according to authorities.

The first incident occurred in east Charlotte around Barrington Drive at about 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Officers arrived at an apartment and found Derrick Chambers, 31, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on scene. Another man was transported to Atrium Health with non-life threatening injuries.

The second incident also occurred in east Charlotte at 6000 Delta Crossing Lane. Officers responded to a call at about 2 a.m. Teaun Bates, 29, was found with gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Both of these homicides are active investigations. We will have more on FOX 46 News at 6 p.m.
