Authorities were called around 10:45 a.m. to a shooting on Leach Road, near Northwestern High School, where two people were injured. One of the victims, a black female, was pronounced dead on scene. The other victim, a white female, was taken to Peidmont Medical Center.
Investigators said Heath was known to the victims. He reportedly went over to Farlow Street and shot another person, a black female, according to the York County Sheriff's Office.
“One of the cops when I got there had me go in the house. There was blood all over the house. I didn’t want her kids coming home from school to see that," said neighbor, Elaine Kennington.
The victim was taken to Piedmont Medical Center for treatment. Heath is wanted on charges of murder and two counts of attempted murder. Investigators say he is considered armed and dangerous.
"When he picked up the gun we thought he was going to shoot us. He looked and then he ran," said one neighbor.
Heath is described as a 35-year-old black male driving either an older model light blue Oldsmobile Cutlass or a red Chevrolet Caprice. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
