Musician robbed at gunpoint hours after walking off stage

A Charlotte musician was robbed at gunpoint hours after walking off stage Thanksgiving weekend.

Justin Fedor of The New Familiars said he and his band members returned to his East Charlotte home off Downs Avenue on Nov. 26 when an armed robber followed one member inside -- who pointed a gun and demanded money.

"There's no need for anyone to get shot over what amount of cash you have in your pocket," Fedor told FOX 46 Charlotte.

CMPD has not made any arrests.

Fedor went to Facebook with what some might call an unlikely message to the robber -- sending hope.

The post, reading, in part, "I see your desperation and I believe it can be defeated. Our system is broken."

The empathetic post, Fedor said, points to what he called a lack of upward mobility in Charlotte.

"People who don't have great economic means also don't have the opportunity to escape that life," Fedor told FOX 46.
