MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — A Myrtle Beach man has found a $1 million Powerball ticket after searching his stack of old lottery tickets.
Local media outlets report that a lottery statement said the man had the winning ticket since June.
Lottery officials say when the man heard about the unclaimed ticket sold at an area gas station searched his stack of old South Carolina Education Lottery tickets and found the winning ticket.
Officials say the ticket for the June 6 drawing contained the winning numbers 8, 13, 18, 27, and 43. The Powerball number was 15.
The man and his wife say the lottery win has secured their retirement and could lead to a new home.
