NC Judge arrested for child sex abuse, police say

A former Superior Court Judge has been arrested in connection to a sex assault on a child, authorities said.

Daniel Green, a longtime Hickory attorney, was taken into custody on Saturday at the Baymont Inn on Hendersonville Road in Asheville.

Green, a former Superior Court judge in Catawba County, is accused of committing a sex crime against a child. He is charged with a felony statutory sex offense as well as disseminating obscene material to a minor.

He faces additional charges of distributing alcohol to a minor.
