LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - A Maiden man has been sentenced to a minimum of 23 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child between the ages of 1 and 3, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
Detectives said the sexual assault was reported in September 2018. The victim was between the ages of 1 and 3 at the time of the offense, they said.
Douglas Glenn Queen Jr., 29, of Maiden, appeared in court on Wednesday, Jan. 9 on charges of first-degree sex offense, indecent liberties with a child, and felony child abuse.
Queen pleaded guilty to all charges and received a minimum sentence of 23 years to a maximum of 32 and a half years in the North Carolina Prison System.
Authorities said upon Queen's release, he will receive 30 months of supervised probation. He will also require to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and be subject to satellite monitoring.
