North Mecklenburg High School student told to remove American flag from truck

A North Mecklenburg High School student is once again allowed to fly flags off the back of his truck.

Bailey Fink was told by a teacher Monday that the flags had to be taken down.

FOX46 reached out to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and a spokesperson said it was because of safety concerns.

After FOX46 started asking questions, a school official went to Fink's house and said Fink would be allowed to continue flying his flags.

Fink flies an American and North Carolina flag off his truck.

Fink's mother says she isn't sure why this was a concern in the first place.

"We're in the United States, why would we not fly the flag," Robin Fink asked. "Whether it is in our house or on his truck, that's what we are supposed to do."
