Officials: Gaston Co. teacher accused of sexual misconduct with student

A Gaston County teacher has been accused of being involved in a sexual relationship with a student, according to Gaston County officials.

The incident happened at South Point High School in Belmont. Police began an investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct by a female teacher with a male student, according to Gaston County Police.

The allegations include a sexual relationship prior to graduation in the spring of 2015. 

A teacher at the school resigned this week amidst the police investigation.
