One person is dead and two others injured after a New Year's Day shooting on Fairwood Avenue, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department announced Thursday.
Around 4a, police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound after responding to a reported assault in the 200 block of Fairwood Avenue. The man, later identified as 37-year-old Ronald Hoover, was pronounced dead at the scene. A short time later, two other men suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds arrived at area hospitals. Police believe all three men were shot during the same incident.
