CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) - Police say one person had to be taken to the hospital after being found with a gunshot wound Friday afternoon in Uptown Charlotte.
Officers with Charlotte- Mecklenburg Police were called to 5th and College Streets about an assault with a deadly weapon. When they arrived they found one victim with a gun shot wound.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment of life threatening injuries, according to Medic.
It was first reported at the shooting happened near the Spectrum Center at N. College and 6th Streets. However police say the incident did not occur at the Uptown location. They say the victim was being driven to the hospital when officers were flagged down.
Officers say the shooting may have occurred in the 1700 block of W. Trade Street.
The case remains under investigation.
