Overnight shooting in Salisbury leaves man with life-threatening injuries, suspect sought

A man was shot multiple times in Salisbury on Saturday and a suspect is being pursued by police, according to authorities.

Corey Parnell Sims, 29, is wanted in connection to an attempted murder at the Brookway Apartment complex on South Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard.

Salisbury resident Dwayne Connor Jr, 32, was taken to Novant Health with life threatening injuries. He was later transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center by helicopter for further treatment.

Sims is considered dangerous and should not be approached. Officials believe he may be in the Mocksville area, just east of Statesville.

This is an ongoing investigation.
