CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) - A broker tells FOX 46 Charlotte ticket prices for the Panthers and Buccaneers game Monday night are some of the least expensive in the last couple of years.
“Row 1, this is like a Christmas present, like a Christmas present in October,” Robert Lee III and his son, Robert Lee IV said. Both are attending Monday night’s game.
FOX 46 Charlotte found some tickets for the game for upper level seats going for $40 each online. Greg Carl, owner of PSL Source, which is a broker for re-sale tickets and PSL, said for the next couple of home games, Panthers tickets are only re-selling for a little more than half the cost of what they were this time last year.
“It certainly is a buyer’s market as we sit here today, especially relative to last year, when comparing it to last year, it’s a tough comparison as that was at least a once in a generation season to see a team start out 14-0 and end up 15-1,” Carl said.
Carl said the Panthers 1-3 start definitely has something to do with the drop in ticket value, but he said the quality of the opponents matters too.
“Last year they had a number of marquee games on the schedule including Green Bay, Philadelphia and Washington, all teams with large traveling fan bases. So far this year and through the end of this year’s schedule, we don’t see as many marquee games,” Carl said.
No matter the schedule or the score, there will always be dedicated fans.
“I’m loyal, loyal to the fan base, loyal Panthers fan, win or lose, I’ll be loyal” Andy Helms said.
