Pedestrian struck, killed in west Charlotte

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in west Charlotte Saturday morning, according to authorities. 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police & Medic responded to Moore's Chapel Rd. at Tilden Dr. shortly after 11 am for reports of a pedestrian struck. The pedestrian was pronounced dead on scene by Medic. 

The road was shut down while authorities investigated, but has since reopened. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending family notification.
