Pedestrian struck, killed on I-77 in Rock Hill

A pedestrian was struck by 2 vehicles and killed early Sunday morning on I-77 in York County.

According to Trooper Joe Hovis with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 31-year-old from NY state was crossing I-77 southbound near Dave Lyle Blvd. around 5:30 am when he was hit by a 2003 Ford Pickup and a 2015 Chrysler.  He was pronounced dead on scene by Piedmont EMS. None of the occupants in the vehicles were injured. 

The identity of the pedestrian will be released after the family has been notified. The SCHP continues to investigate.
