A man was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a northwest Charlotte home after a standoff with SWAT, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

CMPD said they were serving felony warrants Tuesday morning to 18-year-old Timothy Andre Davis and 18-year-old Antonio Wright, who were accused of attempted armed robbery suspect and assault with a deadly weapon.

The robbery happened on Wednesday at a Walmart on Callabridge Court, according to police.

Members of the VCAT team were conducting surveillance outside a home in the 900 block of Sparrow Valley way, while other members of the team arrested Wright without incident at a separate incident.

Negotiators said they used loud speakers to get Davis to come out, but never received a response.

CMPD said when they got inside the house to take Davis into custody, he was dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Neighbors told FOX 46 Charlotte that they did not hear a gunshot and do not think the 18-year-old shot himself.

This is an ongoing investigation.
