Police: 19-year-old sought in Gastonia deadly shooting

The Gastonia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a teenager wanted on multiple charges in the fatal shooting of a 30-year-old man on Thanksgiving. 

Police said Jeremy Austin Smith, 19, of Gastonia, stole a vehicle and shot at two people resulting in the death of 30-year-old Terrence Shatiq Terrell at 1306 Sunshine Avenue on Nov. 22.

Smith is charged with first degree murder, attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon resulting in serious injury, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and possession of a firearm by felon.
