According to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office, the women entered the store, gathered various clothing items, and walked toward the exit without paying for the merchandise. A store employee attempted to confront them at the door, and one of the women sprayed the employee in the face with a chemical agent thought to be pepper-spray. The women fled the scene in a vehicle at the time.
