CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - Two teenagers have been charged in connection to a reported vehicle break-in that happened early Tuesday morning in southeast Charlotte, police said.
The incident occurred at 2:42 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15 in the 2300 block of Calabassas Lane.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, the 911 caller said they heard a car alarm going off and saw several people running from the vehicle. The caller was able to give police a description and direction of travel on where the teens were last seen running.
Officers responded to the location near Sardis Place Apartments and were able to locate three teens nearby matching the description given. After a short foot chase, police said they were able to take two of the three into custody.
Arthur Kirkpatrick, 17, and Nehemiah Harvey, 17, have both been charged with breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and attempted breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, and resisting arrest among other charges.
