Salisbury Police have arrested the ex-boyfriend of a missing teen who was found dead inside a wrecked car from a gunshot wound, according to police.

On Tuesday warrants for first-degree murder and larceny of a firearm were issued for Brandon Jerron Hawkins, 20.

Multiple media outlets reported that officers responded to a car found in a parking lot around 7 p.m. Monday.

Police say they found the body of 19-year-old TaLisha Danielle Crowder of Salisbury in Hawkins' 1991 Honda Accord in the parking lot at North Long Street. Police say Crowder had been reported missing earlier Monday.

Hawkins was given the warrants and placed in the RC Detention Center under no bond, according to police. His first court appearance was set for January 21, 2016.

TaLisha was in her freshman year at Pfeiffer University. Hundreds of students took part in a prayer service in honor of her Tuesday night. The university is offering additional counseling for any students who feel they need it.
