Police arrest sex offender after attending HS football game

Lincolnton Police arrested a sex offender for attending a Friday night football game.

Lester Chapman was picked up by authorities on Monday.

Officers say they found Chapman sitting in bleachers at the Lincolton High School football game Friday night.

Chapman is charged with being a registered sex offender on a property where children are present.

He's being held on a $10,000 bond. Chapman was convicted of sex offense with a child in 1994.
