Mecklenburg County Jail
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - A teacher with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools was recently arrested for DWI, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Tameisha Sharee Guthery, 29, was charged with driving while impaired after she crashed her vehicle on Interstate-77 and lied to state troopers about her name, police said.
The wreck happened around 10 p.m. Sunday on the I-77 northbound ramp to I-85 south. Police said following the crash, Guthery fought with state troopers and refused to take a field sobriety test.
After her arrest, Guthery continued to refuse a breathalyzer at the station so police did a blood test.
Guthery is listed as a science teacher with Garinger High School in east Charlotte.
