FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — A Fayetteville man has been charged after police say he managed to steal a patrol car, while handcuffed, before crashing it.
Multiple news outlets report police say 38-year-old Lloyd Miller was arrested for a domestic disturbance at a residence Friday night.
Police say Miller was handcuffed and put in the back seat of the police cruiser.
During the investigation, police say Miller managed to climb into the car's front seat and drive off.
Miller later crashed into several cars a few blocks away, before fleeing on foot. He was captured and taken to a hospital for minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Miller faces multiple charges, including larceny of a motor vehicle.
Miller was taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center. It isn't clear if he has an attorney.
