Police ID victim in deadly south Charlotte shooting

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have identified a man they say died overnight Tuesday after a shooting in south Charlotte.

Officers responded about 10:50 p.m. Monday to the 7100 block of South Boulevard where they say they found an adult male with gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to an area hospital.

Investigators say the shooting occurred in the 1400 block of Axminster Court and the victim was transported to South Boulevard where 911 was called.

The victim, 21-year-old Juforest Ishaih Hicks, died from his injuries at the hospital Tuesday morning, according to police. 

No arrests have been made.
