Police identify man, 26, killed in Rock Hill shooting

A man was pronounced dead at the hospital after he was found shot inside his vehicle Thursday night in Rock Hill, police said. 

The man has been identified as Justin Penland, 26, of Rock Hill. 

Officers were called to the Mallard Creek Apartments in the 2300 block of Eden Terrace around 9 p.m. for reports of a pick-up truck accident, involving a truck that had struck a parked car and one of the apartment buildings. 

Upon arrival, police discovered the driver, Penland, had suffered an apparent gunshot wound. EMS transported the 26-year-old man to CMC-Main where he later died.
