Lancaster County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide that happened Tuesday afternoon.

A deputy of the sheriff's office was called out to meet with a citizen at the intersection of John Everall Road and Sunnybrook Lane, according to police.

The man told the deputy he leases property in the 1800 block of John Everall Road and noticed a truck parked on the land as he passed by a few minutes earlier. He noticed an unconscious man inside the truck.

The deputy went to the spot and found a dark green 2001 Ford F150 crew cab truck parked a few feet off the road on a farm road leading into a pasture.

Brandon Wheeler Reese, 22, was found dead inside the truck. He appeared to have been shot, according to the deputy.

Reese graduated from Lancaster High in 2012 and was football player at the school for four years.

An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday morning.

“We need to know Mr. Reese’s movements Monday, Monday night, and into Tuesday morning,” said Sheriff Barry Faile. “We ask that anyone who had contact with him during this timeframe, anyone who saw the truck on John Everall Road, and anyone with any knowledge of this incident contact us immediately. Our investigative resources are focused on this case, and we intend to find out who is responsible for Mr. Reese’s death.”
