Police: Man pistol-whipped, shot in leg following argument

A man was pistol-whipped and shot in the leg following an argument early Wednesday morning at an apartment in southeast Charlotte, police said.

The incident happened at 2:06 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31 inside an apartment located in the 3600 block of Marvin Road.

Police said the 911 call came in as a disturbance/noise call with about four to five people outside "talking loud, blowing a horn on a vehicle, and playing loud music." Shortly after another call came in stating "someone had been shot."

An argument had reportedly broken out and a man was hit in the head with a gun and then shot in the leg, according to CMPD. The victim was transported to CMC-Main where he is being treated for minor injuries.

The suspect fled the scene prior to CMPD's arrival. Officers were interviewing witnesses early Wednesday morning to determine the suspect’s identity.
