Police: Man stabbed in the back while attending cookout on Memorial Day

A man was taken to the hospital after police said someone stabbed him in the back during a Memorial Day cookout Monday night in northeast Charlotte. 

The stabbing occurred at 9:28 p.m. Monday, May 27 in the 6000 block of Bennettsville Lane. 

Police said the victim, a man, was at a cookout near the pool when he was stabbed in the back in the parking lot of the local apartment complex. 

He was taken to CMC-Main for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said. 

No motive has been released and police do not have a suspect in custody at this time.
