CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - A homicide investigation is underway after a man was discovered shot to death Monday morning in west Charlotte, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
At approximately 8:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, officers were called to an area in the 6000 block of Wilkinson Blvd. in response to an assist Medic call.
"I just pulled over across from the airport. I just seen a body sitting up against a truck on Wilkinson Boulevard," the driver told 911.
Upon arrival, officers found a man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on scene.
"His body is sitting right up against the truck and I'm on my way to work."
The victim has been identified as Melson Kawon Quince, 35.
At this time, it's unclear if the early morning murder is related to a separate shooting that occurred nearby at Club Nikki's located at 3001 Little Rock Road.
"People just riding by. I don't know how long this person has been out here. I don't feel comfortable going up to the body."
"Homicide detectives are working to determine if the two incidents are related," CMPD said.
