Police: Shooting victim drove to Charlotte fire station for help

One person was taken to the hospital after police say they were shot in southeast Charlotte.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, the victim was shot somewhere on Monroe Road around 5:53 p.m. and drove themselves to the fire station, located at 6512 Monroe Road, for assistance.

Police did not say where the victim was shot. According to Medic, they were taken to Carolinas Medical Center with life threatening injuries. 

The victim's name has not been released.
