Police: Three shot, one dead in Salisbury shooting

Salisbury Police are investigating a shooting Wednesday night that left one person dead and two injured.

The shooting happened on Rachel Lane. Officers say they were called out to the home for some type of disturbance.

When the officers arrived they found two people injured from gunshot wounds and one fatal. The person who died has not yet been identified.

Tonya Veann Wilks was taken to Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center by EMS with non-life threatening injuries and Desmond Kirkland was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injures by a private vehicle. 

Police say it is believed those involved have been found, but at this time no charges have been filed. This is an ongoing investigation.
