Police: Victim paid $160 for video game system, got box of rocks

A teenager is facing charges, accused in two incidents where the victims said they were either buying or selling high-priced items, but instead got robbed.

Gastonia Police said first incident, which happened Dec. 3, involved the sale of an iPhone to 16-year-old Jasean Henderson. The victim said she had agreed to meet up with Henderson after he expressed interest in buying her phone online. Henderson is accused of assaulting, then taking the phone from the victim after meeting up at a location on Union Road.

Police said a few days later, Henderson used the same location as a place of sale for a video game system with a victim. The victim paid him $160, according to the report, but when the victim opened the box with the video game system, he found rocks inside.

Records indicate Henderson has been arrested a total four times since March, including for this most recent incident, for which he is being held on a $60,000 bond.
