Police: Woman killed, man injured in west Charlotte shooting

A woman was killed and a man injured following a shooting in west Charlotte Sunday evening, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police. 

The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Tyrena Inman, police said. 

The deadly shooting happened at 8:25 p.m. Sunday, April 28 at the Extended Stay America Hotel in the 700 block of Yorkmont Road. As officers arrived at the scene they found a woman inside a hotel room dead from apparent gunshot wounds. They said a man was also located and taken to Atrium Health's Carolina Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. 

Homicide detectives were canvassing the area on Sunday trying to determine whether there were any additional witnesses to this crime.
