CHATTANOOGA, TN- A woman was walking through a Goodwill parking lot in Tennessee when she noticed movement from within a box in the parking lot.
She decided to investigate further, and approached the box. It had been taped shut and labeled "Stuffed Animals."
The woman then tore open the box to find three puppies inside. They had been suffering from heat exhaustion and were covered in urine.
Officials estimated the temperature inside the box to be around 100 degrees at the time the dogs were rescued.
Now police are looking for the individuals responsible for abandoning the puppies, and are offering a $200 reward for information. They will face animal cruelty charges.
According to the McKamey Animal Center the dogs appeared to have been neglected over a long period of time, and were in poor condition and also had worms. They were estimated to be between nine and 11 weeks.
Once the puppies are treated, they will be put up for adoption and head to a loving home.
They have since been renamed Greta Garbo, Marilyn Monroe, and Bette Davis.
